Assalāmu `alaikum Warahmatullāhi Wabarakatuh,
There is a company that sells online software that I would like to promote to other users who can benefit from it, in order to receive commission (affiliate marketing) - so that I can earn an additional income. The company is called Builderall and it is an all-in-one online marketing software that lets you create websites, create blogs, landing pages, send out emails to your customers etc.
To join the affiliate program there is a nominal annual fee of $50, presumably for the admin costs of maintaining accounts and providing marketing materials and the like.
There are two available software packages for customers, one is $29.90 a month and the premium package is $69.90 a month. If I sell one of these to a customer, I will be eligible for commission each month the customer pays their software package. Once I sell at least 3 packages per month, I will receive the commissions on all of them. I have a lot of experience in affiliate marketing so I expect to be able to sell at least 10-15 a month.
Please let me know if this income is permissible.
Also, I can refer people to the affiliate program and if they join and sell software, I would receive a small commission on those sales. People referred to the affiliate program will need to pay the annual fee for the affiliate program of $50, however I do not receive ANY commission from this. I would only receive commissions on actual sales of products from my referrals, so if no products are sold to customers then there is no commission.
Commissions are a percentage of the products sold. The commissions structure and requirements are explicitly explained on Builderall's website in the affiliate section (please check) and everything is very clear and the only way to receive commissions is from actual product sales and not recruitment.
Please can you let me know if this is permissible.
JazakAllah Khair
